I just saw the video and read the article on the gigantic outdoor Mass in the Philippines and the distribution of Holy Communion.  I stopped receiving in the hand about 6 or 7 years ago, I really cannot remember.  I do not attend N.O. Masses, and lately I even try to stay away from churches that have the N.O.  I will not take the chance of stepping on even the smallest particle of our Lord.  I know all the zaniness that goes with some of these Masses but the passing of the Sacred Host from hand to hand to the back of the throng is UNACCEPTABLE!!! The Pope, the Vatican, everybody involved in this fiasco should learn a fast hard lesson and the only answer is NO MORE DISTRIBUTING OF COMMUNION AT THESE MASSES.  There is absolutely no justification that I can think of to allow this to happen. 'The people come and they want to receive our Lord.'  Just tell them that it is not possible in this setting.  We cannot have our Lord falling onto the ground and into the mud of Manila!!!!!!!!  I'm saddened to the depths of my soul for Holy Mother Church.  This really is too much.  Stupid people dancing in the aisles, loud folk/rock music, bad unintelligible sermons, etc, I try not to comment on that 'stuff'. But horrible Communion distribution, I cannot be quiet.

Pray for Her, our Holy Church, and plead for intercession from Heaven.

Mother Church is at the top of my list of prayers, especially my nightly rosary. And I agree about the casualness/unknowingness in regard to the Eucharist. But somehow I don't think that is a high priority with our Lord. The pain of so many of his children being slaughtered around the world must surely overwhelm any other sorrows.

And while I pray on these things, I know they are in His hands. And as for myself, I try more to focus on those whose lives I can impact, the ones He brings into my life for a reason. My prayers and actions for them are that I might be His presence, and in doing so be who He made me to be.

How can we just throw away all Church teaching on the proper handling of our Lord? To say that you don't think it's a high priority is just another way of putting ourselves first before God. "Oh it's ok if one or two fall into the mud, as long as the guy in the back gets what he came for." Sometimes we have to sacrifice, a word which modern man mostly knows nothing about, at least when it comes to the supernatural.
Of course we must focus on lives we can impact, that is Charity, the greatest of virtues, but to first, assume what the Lord is thinking, especially when it contradicts Church teaching, I will not go there. I know God permits these things for a reason, but for me, to remain silent is to accept the fault. The Host is THE BODY OF OUR LORD. That will never change.

Kam thank you for your witness.

The Proper starting point, for any possible correct conclusion.

Having been a Eucharistic minister, I can tell you it is far more difficult to give Holy Communion to someone on their tongue than in their hand. People do not open wide their mouths enough to insure easy administration. I worry more about desecrating the Lord with my own sin, though.
