I doubt if that will happen though. I'm still waiting for one of our three priests to say something from the pulpit, but that won't happen either. Thanks for stopping by. kkamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08248881807382198330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18415654.post-64744013558712266192010-04-28T12:29:14.103-04:002010-04-28T12:29:14.103-04:00For the noisy after-gatherers, I have my own littl...For the noisy after-gatherers, I have my own little 3 minute rule. If after 3 minutes there is a noisy conversation near me, I do one of two things: 1) If there is a quieter area of the church, I'll move there, and/or 2) I'll get up and approach the noisy group and ask softly and politely "Excuse me, but I wonder if you could continue your conversation outside." Having waited 3 minutes, they knew I was there, and could perceive they were disturbing me, without my having to tell them. Most quietly leave.
Of course, there have been the occasions before or after mass when I go out into the parking lot and sit in my car, too! :-) There is no getting through to some people. That's ok though, sometimes I'm one of those people.Do Not Be Anxioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04607616214486933423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18415654.post-14799361989231435342010-04-26T13:09:31.157-04:002010-04-26T13:09:31.157-04:00Thank you both for your comments. If I'd never gone to a Latin Rite Mass, hadn't been reminded of the beauty and power that takes place there, I probably would have just gone along enjoying Mass in our home Parish. But the noise, that was and still is a major issue. And the too many hands that are allowed to touch the Host; I'm not comfortable with that either. But I'm being lead by my Shepard, and I will follow his voice. Peace!kamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08248881807382198330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18415654.post-56602612002241207402010-04-25T19:39:53.220-04:002010-04-25T19:39:53.220-04:00I've been to too many Masses when folks don...I've been to too many Masses when folks don't wait until the end of Mass to talk - they take advantage of every opportunity in the Mass. I've been known to put on my teacher face and turn to some offenders!

And as a church musician, it troubles me when people rush out before the final hymn is even done.

Grumble.

Sigh.

There are some Franciscan virtues I really do need to work on!A Secular Franciscanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09184259228282290040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18415654.post-32228579558762155262010-04-25T19:38:54.555-04:002010-04-25T19:38:54.555-04:00"He made more sense to me in 45 minutes than ..."He made more sense to me in 45 minutes than a lot of people have made to me in 45 years". Sounds like the work of the Holy Spirit to me! He'll do whatever he can to draw us closer to the heart of God, new methods, old methods, it makes no difference as long as we love Him.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06195528409761980551noreply@blogger.com
